Who You Are You are an energetic, coachable sales professional who enjoys meeting people and building business in your community. You take initiative, follow through and stay resilient when you hear no. You enjoy being in market, learning how local businesses attract customers and using a clear sales process to build repeat relationships.
Requirements
What You'll Do This is a new-business-first role. The majority of your time will focus on creating and advancing opportunities through in-person and outbound prospecting. You will own the sales cycle from first contact to close within your assigned local territory. • Prospect Toronto businesses through scheduled meetings, walk-ins, networking and community events. • Complete consistent daily outreach by phone, email and LinkedIn to create qualified appointments and sales opportunities. • Build a focused territory plan across local categories such as restaurants, retail, attractions, services and events; prioritize relevant prospects and timely opportunities. • Lead discovery to understand the client’s goals, customers, budget, decision-maker, timing and value of acquiring a customer. • Explain CMG audiences and recommend practical solutions across social, content, video, branded media, email and managed digital marketing. • Prepare clear proposals, handle objections, negotiate and close against monthly, quarterly and annual revenue targets. • Maintain accurate, same-day CRM notes, account ownership, next steps, pipeline values and forecasts; check existing accounts and opportunities before outreach. • Coordinate clean handoffs to campaign management, content, creative and paid-media teams, documenting client goals, deliverables and commitments. • Follow up on campaign results and client feedback to identify repeat campaigns, seasonal opportunities and recurring partnerships. • Use research and approved sales tools to improve preparation and follow-up; participate in coaching, call reviews, role-play and weekly pipeline discussions. How success is measured: consistent outbound activity and time in market, qualified appointments, qualified pipeline, new advertisers, closed revenue, repeat investment, CRM discipline and demonstrated coachability.
What You Have Must-haves • Experience in sales, business development or a high-volume customer-facing role where you demonstrated initiative and accountability. • Comfort with cold calling, in-person introductions and consistent outbound activity by email and LinkedIn. • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with confidence speaking to business owners and explaining marketing solutions clearly. • Curiosity about how businesses attract customers and the ability to ask useful discovery questions before recommending a solution. • Strong organization, time management and follow-up habits, including keeping clear records and next steps in a CRM. • A coachable, resilient and results-oriented approach, with a willingness to learn new products, systems and sales techniques. • Ability to work independently, collaborate across teams and travel locally throughout Toronto for prospecting, meetings and events.
Nice-to-haves • Experience selling digital media, advertising or marketing services, particularly to local businesses. • Familiarity with CRM software such as Ad Orbit, Salesforce or HubSpot, and Google Workspace. • Knowledge of Toronto’s business community or an existing local network. • Exposure to social media, Meta Ads, Google Ads, or research and prospecting tools such as LinkedIn Sales Navigator, Apollo, HeyReach or AI assistants. • Post-secondary education in business, marketing or communications is an asset, but not required.
